Apple and Microsoft signed a license agreement

The lawsuit between Apple and Samsung keeps unfolding, following a timeline carefully defined and crafted by lawyers defending the interests on both sides. While most of it is just pure legal proceedings, there are sometimes some interesting pieces of information.Such an interesting piece of information was the revelation that Apple and Microsoft signed a license agreement, which keeps both companies from starting lawsuits like the one taking place between Apple and Samsung. We don't have much details about the agreement, but we know that it contained very precise clauses, especially one that prevented Microsoft from making products that look too much like Apple's, in a word it prevented cloning Apple's devices.
This is a very important element for Apple in the lawsuit as it shows that the company is willing to share its patents as long as they don't become license agreements to simply copy the devices.

On a side note, this announcement will probably create new tensions between Microsoft and its different partners. They were already not happy when Microsoft unveiled its own tablet, so now that they know that Microsoft won't have to worry about a lawsuit against Apple, they will certainly have more worries about their own products, which of course are not covered by the agreement.
