Yesterday, it was discovered that LinkedIn's iOS app was able to transmit information that was entered in the iDevice calendar to LinkedIn without the user's knowledge, let alone their persmission. Due to the intense critics that arose after the information became public, the company had incentives to rush the launch of a new version of the iOS app, version 5.0.3.
The only improvement announced for the update is 'calendar improvements', which means that the app won't go anymore in the calendar to get info there. It is very likely that Apple put pressure on LinkedIn as this type of 'feature' is forbidden by iOS development guidelines.
