Western Digital unveiled its first Thunderbolt-based storage solution, built on a dual 3.5" MyBook enclosure. To further benefit from the performance level of the Thunderbolt, both disks are set in a RAID stripping mode (not secured), offering 4 or 6 TB of storage.
Western Digital did not provide any information regarding availability of this product, nor about price. We can hope and expect that the number of Thunderbolt-based storage solution will bring the price tag down, especially if we consider that today, a single Thunderbolt cable costs 49 euros. Having cable with shorter length might help to reduce the price, but by what margin...
