9to5mac announced to have obtained reliable information from internal sources about the iPhone 5. Maybe the most important one is that the production seems to be almost ready to start at anytime, so probably linked to the current sales of the iPhone 4S and how competitors are capturing or not marketshares. This would imply that the iPhone 5 might be released less than 1 years after the release of the iPhone 4S. IT should feature a 4" display, but prototypes have different shapes to avoid that leaking information might compromise the secret of the final candidate and its design.
We think that Apple will launch the iPhone 5 if sales of the iPhone 4S drop significantly within the next quarters. Considering the figures reported yesterday, it will be difficult to achieve much better sales within a quarter (especially considering that it was Q4 and Christmas period).
