According to the last news, we will have to wait till March to have Intel releasing its eight core Xeon E5. unlike Xeon from the E3 series already available, the E5 CPU will be able to be installed by pairs on the same motherboard, such a high-end Mac Pro.
The official announcement is planned for MArch 6, first day of the CeBIT, and computers based on such CPU should be unveiled at the same time.
If Apple will be using this feature, the chipset for the E5 CPU supports all RAID modes and independently if it is composed of SATA III or SAS drives.
We are expecting a lot from those new Mac Pro, as with 8 cores per CPU, 20 MB of cache and a much faster memory bus than current models, performance level should jump significantly, and should allow Apple to offer a new high-end flagship working station for Pro users.
