Ivy-Bridge: Only 4 Cores CPUs for the Launch

It seems that there will not be any additional delay, and Intel will be releasing its first Ivy-Bridge CPU in April. However, the founder might have taken the decision to initially release only 4 core desktop and laptop CPUs. Dual core CPUs will only come one month after the official launch.
As Apple will synchronize its updates for iMac and MacBook on the availability of forthcoming Intel CPUs. If this is not a issue and the iMac will be based on 4 cores CPU, it can be a problem for the Mac Book Pro as depending on the TDP of such CPU, Apple might have interest of using dual core CPU. Especially if the price difference between dual and quad core is significant, dual core being dedicated to entry level model. As rumors indicate that the future MacBook Pro will feature a new design, with even thinner enclosure, it remains to be seen how Apple engineer have managed to control CPU and GPU TDP.
We currently think that Apple might wait till May to update its current MacBook Pro models, even though there is a Special Education Event in few days... But the company has also spread updates and release overtime in order to remain on the top of the news. So we could have the new Mac Pro in February/March, then new iMac in April, followed in May by new MacBook Pro, then in June or later with new MacBook Air and Mac mini, as the latest has historically always been the last one to be updated.
