Adobe has announced the discovery of a new 0 day security breach, meaning that it was discovered because it was used by hackers. It concerns both Flash and Adobe Reader and would allow hackers to take control of the computer, no matter the OS it is running.
To take control of the computer, hackers currently use emails, by sending an Excel attached file, which will start the attack when opened. In reality, this file contains a Flash file, an SWF file that crashes all the Adobe applications and allows writing directly int eh memory of the computer, starting the control of the computer by the hackers.
Adobe will provide an update in a few days, on March 21st. In the mean time, stay alert on all attached files, at least as long as we ignore the hacking possibilities created by that breach under Mac OS X.
