PCWorld have tested very many machines has just come out and found that the MacBook Air 11,6" is the fastest computer in its category, and the 13,3" is in second place in the category of the larger machines (the graph on right-hand side is for the 13,3").
These excellent results are of course related on the SSD present as default on these machines but also to very the good performances in 3D of the controller 320M who is much more powerful than the graphic part offered by default by Intel with their Core 2 Duo chips and with their Core iX.
Although it displeases some people, this is the proof that Apple made the best technological choice by preferring the aging Core 2 compared to Core iX in order to keep more powerful graphic capabilities in the Macbook Air, the Macbook and the MacBook Pro 13,3". Of course, things will probably change with the arrival of Sandy Bridge, but that is another story.
