LG proudly announces that they will launch dual-core mobile phones at the end of the year

Proof that it's no longer the computing market which has the wind in its sails but rather that of mobile devices; even the performance race has shifted to this sector.  LG has announced that they are going to use the Tegra 2 processors in their next products.

This processor made by Nvidia looks on paper to be among the cream of ARM processors:

  • It includes two cores based on the Cortex A9 architecture capable of running at 1 GHz;
  • It is equipped with a graphics processor that consumes very little energy;
  • The on-board graphics supports 1080p video, 3D, and hardware acceleration.

According to the very enthusiastic LG, it's the most powerful mobile processor. The first devices equipped with it will arrive for the end-of-year holidays and will of course be competing with Apple's products. It just remains for LG to take up the second, certainly more complicated, challenge: to provide software capable of competing with iOS; it will certainly involve Android.
