Toshiba announced the immediate marketing of first memory MLC NAND chips engraved in 24 nm, a record according to them. Initially the chips sold at this degree of fineness will have a capacity of 8 GB and will store 2 bits per cell. Later on, they will propose chips of lower capacity, but also others product with memory MLC X3 (3 bits per cell) but also of the Flash GDR memory that will double the data flow.
As each reduction in the engraving size, it should generate a fall of the price per GB of these chips, and this will lead to offers of storage systems at a lower price, with the SSD in the lead.
