Intel Acquires Infineon Mobile Division

This is now official; Infineon will sell its mobile business division to Intel for 1.4 billion USD. It gives Intel new weapons to invade a new market giving the founder access to know-how and patent portfolio in the field of 3G chips. Intel would then become a supplier for components of most mobile phones manufacturers, including Apple.
