With its next platform Intel will sput in place a new version of its technology Turbo Boost. This technology allows a boost, either moderate or large, of the frequency of one or two cores when the other cores are unused and thus to accelerate the treatments of the software not supporting multi CPUs.
The new version of Turbo Boost will be nimbler and will make it possible more often and for longer times the overclocking of certain cores. To arrive there, it will ensure a better management of the energy of the cores that are lightly loaded or not in use with the result the power consumption will be even less, and this energy will then go to those that are being overclocked without exceeding the total thermal envelope.
The graphic part inserted in the processors will be also concerned with this novel turbo mode and will be included in calculates of the total thermal envelope. It will also be able to be overclocked in a way independent of the cores that will give it a whiplash (this is not luxury) in the event of need.
