According to iLounge, Apple could upgrade the iPhone as early as this coming January. They don't exactly know what modifications would be made, but the early upgrade (Apple usually keeps each model during one year)would fix definitely the antenna problem.
We have to say that it is hard to believe this piece of information because it would mean that Apple would admit that there actually was a problem on the iPhone 4 antenna, which they didn't really want to do. Plus, it would create a real frustration to all iPhone 4 users.
Still according to iLounge, and this information is more believable, Apple would be working on a new bumper model, which would not have the metal buttons found on the current model. The new bumper could be offered to all iPhone users after September 30th and could even be placed in each iPhone box.
