A report from Olivier:
It seems today quite clear that the update 10.6.4 is creating serious problem with Open GL drivers, in particular for users having a Mac based on a NVIDIA GPU GeForce 8xxx, as well as other cards from NVIDIA (could also affect ATI in lesser extend). The display starts shaking and freeze after few seconds when running an application based on Open GL (photoshop, phocus, games, etc.), so the best advise is to rather way before migrating to 10.6.4.
There is a dedicated topic on Apple discussion forum:

It is clear that many users expect that Apple will psot a fix quickly and that we will not have to wait till Mac OS X 10.6.5 before getting this problem fixed.
If it does not affect all identical configurations, we have also been experiencing this issue of rendering (shaking and artifacts) when running Safari or when waking a computer from a sleep mode.
