The Crucial SSD C300 is currently with its SATA III interface the fastest model available, with 350 MB/s in writing model. The company decided to release an entry-level model, with only 64 GB of storage space, with an aggressive price around 150 €. If performance levels in reading mode remain identical to its brother (355 MB/s on SATA III port), writing will be (much) slower, 75 MB/s, twice slower than the 128 GB model, and three time lower than the 256 GB unit. The IOPS is also reduced with only 15,000 for the 64 GB unit vs. 45,000 for the 256 GB model.
Nevertheless, this new unit will remain interesting and competitive, especially if you can get access to SATA III port, it does not seem to be a priority on our Mac so far.
