Here a study that will give pleasure to Apple and to justify their desire to have a control of the applications that are put on the AppStore. This study has been carried out by Smobile Systems (contents in pdf here) they find that nearly one in 5 applications sold by the Google platform could prove to be dangerous for the users of Android. Depending on the case, these applications would be able to reach the personal data stored on the mobile, would be able to send in secret an SMS (possibly surtaxed) or to make calls without the knowledge of the owner of the telephone.
In order not to hit too much on Google, those which made this study consider that the processes of validation, even that of Apple very constraining cannot guarantee a behavior of the software that could easily hide code in their centre in the form of delayed-action bomb.
