The current trend on the SSD market follows the scheme we were expecting: one of side 100 € SSD models offering low capacity and one the other side models with more storage space and higher performance levels thanks to top notch controllers.
While OCZ was mostly offering products belonging to the second category beside entry level model below 200 €, the company announced a future SSD model for 99 USD.

Its name: Onyx. This SSD will offer 32 GB of flash-based memory, a controller Indilix Amigo, probably a castrated Barefoot controller. This drive will be for customers willing to adopt SSD in their computer, however, it will imply to have a second storage unit, as the system and applications will go on the SSD. Despite being an entry level model, the Onyx is covered by a warranty of 3 years.
