[Updated] The iPad 3G will not be a big success?

Apple will market two versions of the iPad. The first will be able to be connected to Internet only via Wi-Fi while the other, a more expensive version, will be able also to do this via the 3G, using a dedicated subscription.
AT&T is not very optimistic on the incomes that they will be able to gather from these 3G subscriptions. According to a representative of the company the owners of the iPad will prefer to use Wi-Fi, whether their own or one of the many open networks that one finds easily.
This is not very surprising. In addition to the higher price of the 3G device, few people will want to have to pay a subscription for 3G data that would cost something in the neighbourhoods of the 30 euros per month, in addition to that of their telephone and a possible subscription dedicated to the modem mode of the iPhone.
Apple may have an interest to allow those who have one of these tethering subscriptions of being able to use it for their iPad. It would allow access to Internet 3G to iPad via Tethering in bluetooth, but also with a computer when one wants to do something more serious.
