Intel to Demonstrate a 48-Cores CPU

Intel should make a demo in a near future of a 48-cores CPU. This chips would be 10 to 20 times more powerful than current commercially available CPU. This will be the first chips released on the market with so much cores in it. There are not so much details available and even the frequency of this CPU remains unknown. However, what we know is that Intel massively worked on improving interconnection of cores to improve performance while limiting saturation of the bus. Its power consumption will be reduced to 25 W in idle mode and 125 W when fully loaded. In order to improve power management, each core will be able to regulate its own clock speed depending on the work load.
If Intel keeps multiplying cores on its consumer-dedicated chips at the same pace, we should have such 40+ cores CPU becoming default model within the next 10 years, except if a technology revolution makes it outdated and push the founder to investigate other ways. Of course, bringing such raw power is almost useless if developers do not work on giving tasks to each cores; except if Intel or Windows/Apple/Linux work on offering OS able to split tasks depending on work load and available cores.
