Competitive SSDs by 2011

The price of the SSD could make these disks able to fight with the traditional hard drives by 2011. The majority of the flash memory manufacturers aim to produce chips engraved in 20 nm this year.
To illustrate the price drops produced by engraving more finely: Intel was able to divide by two the price of its X-25M with constant capacity by passing from 50 nm to 34 nm. Of course, other factors enter such as the production volume constantly increases, but engraving in 20 nm should make it possible to divide by 2 or the 3 prices of these disks. These will be still much more expensive than the price of the disks with platters of GB, but the much higher performances of the SSD, that will still progress with the arrival of SATA III will push that these SSD disks are offered in a great number.
The more impatient wanting to taste the SSD without financial ruin can be tempted to try an Intel X25-X.
