Rambus has just lost another battle with NVidia.This business goes back to last year where Rambus started proceedings against NVidia accusing them of violating many of its patents (see all the history here). Rather than to fight on the ground of its adversary, NVidia decided to pass by a different route and tried to invalidate the patents. They succeeded at the beginning of the year and managed to cancel 7. So meanwhile Rambus, whose wallet-full of patents and related court proceedings is the essence of its incomes, instead of trying to bring some calm, continued with the proceedings, and this they must now regret. The courts have now just cancelled another 17 of their patents on which they will not have more any rights, and especially they will not be able to sue companies exploiting the technologies that result from this.
So they must now find a more productive way to gain money and to enhance the value of their shares that have strongly dropped following this advertisement.
