Yet another diagnostic tool for the after-sales service of Apple

Here is a good moment: a change in the Apple after-sales service, something that we requested several times. To summarize things, Apple is providing to all its maintenance centers the software needed to diagnose breakdowns and to facilitate the resolution of it. In this series, we already have the following:

  • Software for testing and to decide to fix under guarantee (or not) the MacBook Pro equipped with Geforce 8600M GT
  • Diagnostic software for battery failures and power adapters
  • Diagnostic software of breakdown of the keyboards and the Magic Mouse 2009

The 'After-Sales Service' centers will now be issued with a new tool intended for the MacBook Air and all the Unibody portables. It will make it possible to make a diagnosis of operation of the Airport, Bluetooth, the LCD screen and the sensors of the ambient lighting. This system comes in the form a mini bootable system and thus makes it possible to make a precise diagnosis independent of the operating system and especially without the need to disassemble the machine. It thus will simplify the test of the machines that have a problem and will shorten their time needed to get it fixed.
Like all the other diagnostic tools from Apple, it is only intended for use within its after-sales service and will not be distributed to the public.
