After the first reported problem identified with iMac Core i7 (unstable and flashing display), a new issues are arising. Some users could not boot their iMac, the computer remained inactive, even though in some cases one could have heard the classical 'bong' before a definitive silence. Other unfortunate owners reported to have a broken glass plate (the one protecting the LCD panel), while the box was intact and not damaged:
Glass plates are always broken on the lower left corner. As there were no sign of damage on the box, nor on the computer itself, one could imagine that some glass plates were fixed too tightly on the Alu enclosure. With Air cargo shipping, it is possible that important temperature variation might then increase tensions leading to damaged plates. We can only hope that those reports remain as low as possible, if you are not in a hurry you might want to wait for the revision B.
