OCZ Colossus Available

OCZ officially launched its SSD Colossus.

This is a 3.5" SSD, dedicated to desktop computers, a market where SSD manufacturers have not really started to offer specific models. 

On a practical point of view, this drive is composed of 2 SSD controller assemble in a RAID setting. The design was not to reach maximal performance levels but rather to support the maximal number of operations per second (IOps).

• 120 GB model:260 MB/s in reading and writing modes, sustained writing at 140 MB/s with 14280 IOps
• 250 GB model:260 MB/s in reading and writing modes, sustained writing at 220 MB/s with 16100 IOps
• 500 GB model:260 MB/s in reading and writing modes, sustained writing at 220 MB/s with 12300 IOps
• 500 GB model:260 MB/s in reading and writing modes, sustained writing at 220 MB/s with 13350 IOps

All models have a 3-years warranty, and we will publish prices as soon as we get them.
