Without going into details, it seems that the Core i7 is about 25% faster than the Core i5 which was already ahead of the Core 2 Duo-based iMac models. In summary, the iMac Core i7 can compete with the Mac Pro 2008!. This is a true evolution in the iMac architecture, and for sure it might be the answer to the Mac users willing to get a more powerful desktop computer without investing in a Mac Pro
