First Worm to Target iPhone OS Identified
On the blog site of Sophos is reported what could be the first virus specifically developed for the iPhone. As usual with first attempt, it is not really dangerous. It simply replace the background photo by one of Rick Astley.

So, before some users or analysts start screaming ahead of security holes etc, such worm can only propagate/affect jailbreaked iPhones. It makes use of the SSH and its efault password, "Aline", to infect users who did not change this password after having jailbreaked their iPhone.
Once it is installed on the iPhone, it will start scanning the network to identify the future target. It seems to be mostly active in Australia for the time being. We are sure that other hackers will soon start using such backdoor of jailbreaked iPhone with less peaceful intentions, such as using their iPhone to send SMS, etc.
So, if it is today easy to jailbreak an iPhone, it also removes all protections and security measures built by Apple in its iPhone OS. Having a jailbreaked iPhone can be fun and sometimes the only way to have a this device with a specific carrier , however you can not blame Apple anymore for not protecting you from third party attacks.
