Details of the Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity Edition

At the release of Radeon HD 5870, ATI had announced a special model called the Eyefinity Edition that would be released later. Now we know some more about this product.

This card will run at the same frequencies as the basic 5870, but is special since is able to support up to 6 monitors simultaneously.

You must recognize the shape of the connectors and this adapters. These are mini Displayport connectors minis that one finds on the Apple portables, the graphics cards of Mac Pro and as the connector for the Apple 24" LED Display. For ATI the only way to allow them to put 6 connectors in such a small  space.

To finish, the card has 2 GB of memory so that each of the 6 screens has easily what it needs. We do not know if Apple/ATI hope one day to propose a version Mac Edition.
