Some pictures and additional information about the newly opened Paris Apple Retail Store

by Moose . Original by Lionel - 06/11/2009 11:09:27 CET

Fat Boss Slim sent us these pictures taken inside the new store during the grand opening.

The Store will be open to the public on Saturday, 7 November, so if you want to pay a visit, here are some practical details.

First you can check the Carrousel du Louvre website.

Entrance is at number 99 of the Rue de Rivoli. Friendly warning if you go there on foot: on this side of the street, numbers can be extremely widespread, meaning that it can take you 5' to walk between two consecutive numbers.

If you go there using the Tube, take the 1 or 7 lines and get off at the "Palais Royal – Musée du Louvre" station. If you have a car and are willing to pay €3 per hour, there is an underground car park.

Opening hours are from 10 am to 8pm, 7 days a week. The Mall itself is open from 8am.

On a side note, Pascal Cagny, General Director of Apple Europe, surprised everyone during his opening speech and poured some oil on the "Mac zealots" flame war when he mentioned that "France is the eldest daughter of the Apple Church". "Apple Church"? really? That's in France were the Church was separated from the State a good while ago, and not exactly on friendly terms... And we thought that the OS religious war was more or less over... There was the "cult of Mac", now there is the "Church of Apple", and we can only guess that Jobs would be its Prophet.

Oh, by the way, if you drop by the Apple Store, make sure to pay a visit to that little-known museum that's in the same mall, you know, the Louvre...
