Apple takes the role of a distributer?

by crispin . Original by Lionel - 04/11/2009 06:00:00 CET - Source: http://mediamemo.allthingsd.com

As often with Apple, new rumours spread like fire. The idea is that the company is preparing to launch at a at the beginning of 2010 subscription service for television contents, certainly via the Apple TV.
The company apparently is still in full negotiation with the various distribution channels so as to be able to offer a full contents. One can more than certainly already to count on the full Disney catalogue to be acquired by at Apple, but it will be necessary to offer much more to convince potential customers.
Of course we can expect a strong reaction from the current distributors of these products, into particular in the United States with the cable operators but also in France with the ADSL suppliers who offer TV as the way of making profitable their infrastructures.  They certainly will not appreciate to find themselves confined to the role of pipe supplier used to pass  the contents from which Apple would profit.

However, such an offer would finally allow this Apple TV to pass from a hobby and change into a new cash machine.
