The company Saint-Clair Consultants just launched a legal action against Apple for violating its patent 5138459. As usual, claims are broad and cover all type of communication between a digital camera/camcorder and a computer. However, the company successfully obtain 25 million USD from SONY, 34 million from Canon and 3 millions from Fuji, etc... Almost all companies offering digital camera took a license on this patent. In such conditions, one can not really understand why Apple legal did not act pro-actively... this could be directly linked to the new video/photo features of the new iPod nano...
