Aperture X Before Year's End

by linathael . Original by Lionel - 27/10/2009 00:26:00 CET

Last week, Amazon USA released information about a book dedicated to a non-existing Apple application, Aperture X.

The book is tagged as being covered by NDA with an expected released date on May 2010. Apparently this is a fake date that will be modified as soon as the application becomes available.
According to our sources, with Aperture X, Apple decided to align its name with Mac OS X, and should release this new evolution of its Pro-oriented photo editing application at the end of November and fore sure before year's end. We did not receive any additional details about this new version, but it seems that it will be able to benefit from Snow Leopard as well as be more multi-core aware. Apple has to speed up to compete with its main competitor (end leader in the field) Adobe LightRoom which is now available in beta version 3.0.It is quite obvious that if Apple does not quickly react and provide an truly advanced and strong evolution for Aperture, LightRoom 3.0 will most likely capture the entire market whereas Apple created a earthquake couple of years ago when it released the first version of Aperture, offering complex photo editing in a simple user-friendly interface.
