New Macbook Pros before expected?
The Applesana.es site found in latest beta of Mac OS X 10.6.2 some references to two new models of MacBook Pro.

It refers to models labelled 6.1 and 6.2 whereas those currently marketed are the 5.x. In another news item we told you they could arrive more quickly than expected and it seems that this may indeed be the case. We are thus free to make an in-depth re-examined of the new range. They will be doubtless the first portables functioning with the futures core i7 mobile.

According to one of our sources (sorry for hiding behind this), Apple could decide to hit hard and to offer a high-end Core i7 920XM. In this case it will be the first Apple portable fitted with 4 cores and 8 threads. This processor basically runs at 2 GHz and this will be its frequency of operation if all the cores are used with full load. However it will be able to be "overclocked" in certain conditions. It will be able to push its 4 cores to 2,06 GHz, or to run two at 2,26 GHz (if the others are unused) or to run one at 3,33 GHz. We have a small doubt however because the TDP, 55W, of this CPU is above the upper limit usually used by Apple. If this information that we have is confirmed, it will be necessary that the cooling system is re-examined due to this rise. We know however that in everyday usage such a machine should have a battery life similar to that of a current MacBook Pro. The New Core i7 mobile are heavily optimized to consume the least possible when under a light load.
We have heard a release date planned to catch the end of year festivals, so that these machines could be a present inside the sack of Father Christmas.
