Apple recognizes a risk of overheating of the first iPod nanos

By crispin. Original by Lionel - 20/10/2009 06:00:00 CEST - Category: iPod

Apple published a technical note concerning the first nano iPod marketed between September 2005 and December 2006.

They describe the "rare cases of overheating" being able to damage these devices, to deform them and prevent them from functioning. They call on those who have encountered this problem to contact Apple Care as soon as possible. The battery will then be exchanged free if it is not too late.
This recognition follows the investigations of the Japanese authorities which had listed some cases of overheating as of these MP3 players and had told Apple to fix it, which is now the case.
