It did not take a long time between the official announcement from Toshiba to support Blu-ray format and the release of its first standalone player:
The BDX2000 is a well packed product, offering 1080p 24 and compatible with BD 2.0. It is aggressively prices around 250 USD. Of course, one could get a PS3 Slim for 50 USD more, but not every customer would consider a game station as its BD player. As expected too, with Christmas only couple of months ahead, prices of BD players should massively drop and mid-range models should be soon around 200 €.
