According to ArsTechnica, all iPods would be EOL (End of Life) with new models expected for September 9th. If this information is not a surprise for iPods nano and Touch (larger storage capacity + integrated camera), it is relatively puzzling for the iPod Classic.
Last year, Apple limited the choice of iPod classic to a single model of 120 GB, despite new 1.8" HD offering 240 GB or more. So, Apple should either upgrade the iPod Classic to a larger HD, or change the design or most likely stop this product as sales are now only marginal and targeting a niche market. Such users could switch to the iPod Touch which could offer 64 GB of storage space. The answer in 10 days.
