Hereafter are some information we collected about Intel and its current/future products/strategies:
- The founder decided to push further its Turbo clock function. It allows to automatically overclock a single core of the CPU when the application in treated/coded as a mono-threaded task. This is particularly useful as most applications are not natively coded to be multicore-aware yet. In the future, only the manageable heat will be defined as the limiting factor of the Turbo clock function. So, the core might be clock several hundreds of MHz more than its original clock speed. It could also be extended to more than one core if the CPU features several of them.
- While sales of ultra-portable PC notebook powered by the ATOM CPU are excellent, Intel officially admitted that those products did not reach the expected goal on the emerging market, and have mostly been sold in developed countries as the second or third computer in a family.
- The founder decided to further speed up transition to 32 nm engraving process. While the first CPU will arrive at the end of the year, all models should now be produced with this process within the next 6 to 9 following months.
