PearC Extends its Offer to Most EU Countries

By linathael. Original by Lionel - 06/07/2009 10:01:03 CEST - Category: Apple

If we mostly followed the bqttle between Apple and Psystar, there was only few reports about the german company PearC taking advantage of the local law to offer Mac clones running on Mac OS X. This is a legal offer based on the german regulations. They have now extended their offer to msot EU countries by localizing their website and corresponding languages as well as registering dedicated websites such as PearC.fr, PearC.be , etc.

If we think that Apple should offer a non Mac Pro mini tower model at a competitive price, we do not think that customers should be fouled by such marketing points from companies such as PearC or Psystar. Indeed, they mostly want to make cash out of the Apple growing curve, without necessarily bringing support to their customers. One could ask Psystar customers about the support they will get from the disappearing company...

Apple will exchange the broken glass on the iPhones in their stores

By crispin. Original by Lionel - 06/07/2009 08:01:48 CEST - Category: iPhone

The most frequent problem encountered with a iPhone is certainly α broken glass covering the screen fall. The repair of this problem were very complicated on a iPhone Edge and it is more so on a 3G or a 3GS. Up to now, the solution was to pass by the very expensive Apple after-sales service, or by small more or less serious repairers.

Henceforth, Apple proposes this service in its shops (only in the US for the moment). It will cost 199$ of them to change the glass of an iPhone whatever its model. On the other hand, this is not possible on a iPod Touch.
With such a tariff, the small qualified repairers will not have a bad future:)
