The return of Turbo Memory in 2010

Even though Intel has surfed for a few years on a wave of success, there has been nevertheless one of its technologies that did not suceed, this is Turbo Memory (ex Robson) which wanted to use a module of flash memory placed on the mother board to accelerate the treatment of certain data. In fact, the presence of modules of 512 MB or 1 GB brought practically nothing, except increasing the cost to the manufacturer. Thus it was put on the side by the manufacturers of laptops.

However it should return at the beginning of 2010 with convincing arguments. Indeed, Intel would be now ready to use significant amounts of flash memory, 4,8 or 16 GB, but especially inspired by the success and the performances of its SSD disks. Of course RAM does not solve everything and Intel will also have to use a powerful controller.
