Pioneer and Sharp Merge their DVD/Blu-ray Activities

During this economic slow down, many companies decided to merge some of their activities on a specific (and competitive) market in order to preserve their margins and market shares. After teaming up with Sony for its LCD display manufacturing activity, Sharp decided to work with Pioneer for the production of DVD/Blu-ray players and burners. Next October, the joint-venture named Pioneer Digital Design and Manufacturing Corporation will develop and produce all related devices for both companies.
