When the iPhone OS 3.0 was unveiled, Apple indicated that MMS will not be supported on the iPhone 2G Edge due to hardware limitations. Well, if you have a jailbroken iPhone 2G, it will take you couple of minutes to add MMS support. You simply need to install the application ActivateMMS2G available via Cydia from the repository http://cydia.alpden.com.
After rebooting the iPhone, and activating MMS in the preferences, you will see the photo icon displayed in the SMS application. However, be sure to have a compatible subscription plan otherwise sending MMS might become quite expensive.
