In a press release, Matrox announced 2 new Pro-oriented cards, aka M9138 and M9148. No, it is not graphic cards, they are dedicated to Pro users aiming to have several display plugged to the same computer. The fist card supports up to 3 monitor with 2560x1600 pixels definition (usually 30"), while the second cards can manage 4 displays.

So what about the title of this news? Well, Matrox decided to use the mini DisplayPort on those cards, the same port that Apple introduced in October 2008 when releasing MacBook models, so far tied to the gorgeous but expensive Apple Cinema display LED 24". So, now that a new company adopted mini DisplayPort, let's hope another manufacturer will finally release an adaptor mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort.
