[Updated] WWDC: Last Information and News

By linathael. Original by Lionel - 08/06/2009 15:28:03 CEST - Category: Apple

Today, the WWDC will kick-off, with the expected keynote. We will try to provide a live coverage. Hereafter are the last information we received:

  • During the keynote, Apple will officially launch Snow Leopard to developers and the public. If we know many of the main changes, information about details or in-depth improvements are still unknown or hidden. It should change in couple hours, as developers will received a beta version of Snow Leopard.
  • The other main focus of the keynote and the WWDC will of course be iPhone OS 3.0. Most of the new features are known , and only the official release date in September remains unclear.
  • Associated with the iPhone OS 3.0, Apple will unveil the new iPhone 3G, supposedly entitled "iPhone Video". The official release date should be around mid-July, and it might be synchronized with iPhone OS 3.0 release.
  • LAst but not least, we received information indicating that Steve Jobs might celebrate his come-back during the keynote. If officially he will not deliver the keynote, we can imagine that while demoing the video capabilities of the new iPhone 3G, Phil will call Steve for a live chat. In summary, Steve is strongly suspected to be on the stage during the keynote.

In all cases, we will try hard to provide a live coverage (18h00 CET, 12h00 ET, 9h00 PT). As for the last keynotes, we will use Google App Engine in its final version. The only URL to remember: http://keynote.hardmac.com
