Nanotechnologies Might Extend Lithium-based Battery Life Cycle

If you were thinking that Lithium-based battery were seeing the end of their use in notebook, Canadian scientists have developed a way to increase stored power by a factor 3. They used nanotechnologies (nanocasting) to improve the exchange surface in the battery. They filed a patent and are currently reviewing options for commercialization and practical applications. As usual with such technologies, we will know in the future if the aging technology will face a new life cycle, or if the new battery technologies will take over as they are already almost ready for being massively deployed.
