Toshiba has put on sale the first portable computer fitted with a 512 GB SSD
Of course, this disc is one produced by Toshiba and it makes a point of the exclusiveness of its products. This disk is announced to have data flows of 230 MB/s while reading and 180 MB/s in writing. In addition to this SSD, the computer has a low consumption CPU and large batteries, that gives a battery life exceeding 12 hours.
Even if the price of the naked SSD is not known, the computer will be marketed starting from 3200 Euros, which makes it very expensive for a machine equipped with a Core 2 Duo running at 1,4 GHz.
