With the release of Mac OS X 10.5.7, Apple launched the shipping of the pre-ordered Mac Edition Radeon HD 4870.
If you do not feel like getting a PC version of this card, and installing the required extensions as we already published it, then go and get the Mac Edition. It is a great card with high performance level. You might also benefit from the exclusive mini DisplayPort output. If you have one of the first Mac Pro, this card should still work at least for the DVI output.
