While Waiting for Snow Leopard, Open CL and Grand Central...

With the release of a new beta version of Snow Leopard to developers, some have noticed that QuickTime X will be able to make video capture from the desktop, or to directly submit a video to YouTube.

If this information can make some websites jumping into the sky, we are far from having the tools of a true rock solid new basis of the OS: Open CL, Grand Central, ... Apple did not release any information to beta testers, most probably because there are still plenty of work to be done, and to prevent releasing crunchy information about the potential of such core elements of the future OS. One will likely have to wait for the WWDC to get first details, as Apple will have unveil a bit part of its future OS to the developers to help them to get prepare for Snow Leopard and be able to benefit and code appropriately. It is likely that Snow Leopard and Windows 7 will be released in a short time frame, and both Apple and Microsoft are probably preparing their marketing campaign to demonstrate superiority of their respective OS on its main competitor.
