Western Digital has just added to its catalogue a disc of 1,5 TB.
Just like the 2 TB model that we installed in Time Capsule, this disk belongs to their Green series and spins 5400 rpm. Even though the performances at the level of access times are a little poor, it has the merit to consume less power and heat less than the majority of the other faster disks, and it does not vibrate. According to Matbe it is already marketed in Japan at 150€TTC. This is a little more expensive than competition. However even at this price, to buy the 500GB Time Capsules and to install this disk inside creates a product equipped with 1,5 TB of capacity and still 30€ less expensive than the model 1 TB of Apple.
