The 24'' LED of Apple is a strong performer

by crispin . Original by Lionel - 18/01/2009 09:52:59 CET
Les numériques who have carries out some excellent tests published those of the Apple LED Cinema Display.

Even though the screen obvious gets a bad mark from the point of view of its connector, since it is only compatible with the new portables, it is extremely strong in other areas.
Its response time is measured at 5 ms compared to the 14 ms announced by Apple. The colors are also very faithful which will please those who do photography.
On the other hand, the contrast is 750:1 is good, but others do better. The luminosity, as on the portables, is very good, certainly too much for the majority of the users. But this is the price paid by those who would like to use it in a very luminous environment and want to avoid the reflections.
Of course there remain the price, which is still very high. Let us hope that it will drop when the competition also moves en masse toward the LED.

According to the Seagate forums, the company (who have not officially communicated yet on the obvious problem of its 7200.11 disks) should certainly propose on Tuesday an update of the firmware removing the sword of Damocles placed over them.
While waiting, remember that it is imperative to have a backup in all circumstances.
