The New iMac to Be Manufactured by Foxconn and not Quanta

Invalidating part of its original information published couple of days ago, the Chinese Newspaper "Economic Daily News" announced today that Foxconn and not as originally quoted Quanta ill manufacture the new iMac to be unveiled at the next MWSF. According to details, Apple ordered 800,000 units for the first quarter, rather impressive numbers, showing that Apple expects the new model to be successful and popular.
The new enclosure is reported to be based on Aluminum and Magnesium, and the new iMac will feature a new cooling system developed and manufactured by FPC and Auras. This is interesting as it confirms the previous rumor indicating that the new iMac will be powered by Intel Quad Core CPU (most likely Core 2 Quad), much faster than the mobile Core 2 Duo, but releasing much more heat (20 to 30 additional watts).
With the problem of the previous liquid system used in the PM G5 Quad Core, it is unlikely that the new iMac will use such system, and Apple will most likely use convection-based cooling system as well as take advantage of the metal-based enclosure to increase the heat transfer surface to further improve CPU cooling.
