Problems between new portables and some memory cards

With its new portables, Apple inaugurates in the Mac the arrived of the DDR3, which starts to be widely used. Contrary to its old habits, Apple provides on its machines a largely acceptable quantity of RAM, even on basic MacBook which has 2 GB. However, some wanted to increase this to 4 GB and had problems. It seems that not all DDR3 functions in these machines and can make them unstable. One does not speak here about " No name" memory but memory manufactured by Crucial or Mushkin, ie reputable manufacturers. It is probable that the problem comes from the NVidia chipset which is still not in widespread use in the PC world, Apple being the first users. One will certainly need an update of this chipset or that the manufacturers of memory understand this particular requirements so that all returns to a working state.
While waiting, if you must change the memory of your Unibody portable, make sure that you buy it in a Mac retailer who you will certify it as functional or else to change it or to to make a refund in case of incompatibility.
